Developing an Open Educational Resource: Reflections on a Student-Staf
Abstract
Open educational resources (OERs) are essentially resources made freely available to the public for the purpose of enabling education. This paper examines the experiences of a collaborative team of interdisciplinary teachers and computer science students in their research and development of an OER designed to facilitate student note-making, and research. As expected, the team encountered, and overcame, a number of challenges, with both teachers and students learning from the experiences. The OER has been completed, and has been deployed in a full research study. The reflections from the team may help guide similar projects and other forms of student-centeredcollaboration and education.
